Expensive chemical treatment is used to achieve heat preservation in conventional production of FIR fibre. The method degrades yarn properties and quality and the FIR effect is also weakened after washing. This project uses a physical method to define the cross-sectional profile of fibre and modify its parameters ideally for fibre spinning, thereby improving brightness, finesse, linear shape and drawing method in order to achieve optimal performance of FIR fibre. The novel solution is more cost-competitive and eco-friendly. Textile made by the FIR fibre provides durable far infrared function for heat preservation and well-being benefits, such as keeping the wearer’s body warm, improving metabolism and sleep quality, facilitating fatigue recovery, and increasing blood oxygen and circulation.
