Free of Head Mounted Device, VirCube XR SPACE is a multi-user immersive virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) training simulator designed for rehabilitation (improvement), healthy ageing (preventive) usage and special needs. Paired with 3D stereo glasses, the system provides a safe yet “next to reality” environment in 1:1 scale for the elderly and disabled to carry out a series of training simulations while maintaining eye contact and face-to-face communication with caretakers or therapists. With integration of perspective and motion tracking and body sensory function, multiple users are allowed to interact with natural movement and actual tools in a room-sized VR simulated environment, enhancing the sense of reality and level of engagement. User performance data is also recorded to facilitate AI data analysis and comparison purpose. It aims to promote social inclusion and encourage all levels of users to achieve a better living standard and convenience in the community without logistics arrangement, embarrassment or danger in reality. Applications include but not limited to physical exercise, cognitive training, community living skills training, instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), reminiscence therapy, emotional relaxation and behaviour management etc.
